Figma has launched its Design Agent, a dedicated AI assistant built directly into the collaborative canvas. This new feature enables designers to work with AI natively on the Figma platform for the first time.

The Figma Design Agent is fine-tuned specifically for design tasks and understands:

Unlike third-party AI tools, the agent lives directly on the canvas without requiring separate setup or context switching.

Integration with Figma MCP

The Figma Design Agent works alongside the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server:

• MCP Server: Pull code onto canvas or push designs to code
• Design Agent: Real-time collaboration directly on canvas
• Both are free during beta and enable seamless design-to-code workflows
